low oil engine damage????

will a 97 f 150 with a 5.4 shut down if oil pressure gets low??

i dont not know but i do not think so because i have heard horror stories of people leaving jiffy lube with no oil in the engine and driving a few miles

I don't think so. It will just 0 out the gauge and the oil light will come on. I know that they will drop every other cylinder if it gets too hot to make the dead cylinders act like air pumps to cool the engine.
