This guy sounds like a snake, You can pickup a used Solus from snap-on with all the adaptors and keys, scan, get live data, clear trouble codes, and flash computers with the subscription. If you dont get the subscription you can still have all the functions of the scan tool and do balance test, activate the turbo, the IDM, ect. for around 500.00 bucks. your getting screwed
Something you need to be aware of. While reading at the Motorcraft/Rotunda web site on Licsenseing I came across this tidbit.
In 2012 The licsense became associated with the computer not just the software/vcm. You can move it to a different computer but it has to be completely uninstalled from the old one.
Also every 29 days you have to let the updater check for updates, this verifies the software is still in use. The kicker is if you do not your licsense will become invalid and the software will no longer work even if your subscription has 10 months left.
Yahiko, I found this seller on Ebay and made the purchase in early OCT. of 14. He took item off Ebay and sold direct to me. . Time issue at least. .......
That you never want to do. I've been on eBay a long time and had some issues with sellers and long discussions with eBay reps. All they can do for that is go after the seller for selling outside of eBay. Had you done the transaction through eBay they could work on the total refund if the item had nondisclosed issues. The other thing you never want to do is pull a complaint when the seller is trying to come to an agreement outside of eBay when sold within their system as you can never go back once the complaint is dismissed.
Dannyboy950, I think thats what the Rotunda Field Rep was trying to tell me. And once a VCM had a licence , it always needs one from then on. I don't expect to get full credit for this on a return. $1300. or at least $1200. is fair for me .He has me for $1,550.
I would like to refer this Thread on a main FTE site so more than us 6.0 Diesel guys can be aware. Any recommendations?

Not always true. I got them to change a "final decision" that had gone all
the way. Very complex story. So if it's a high value item be sure to
make notes and call Ebay and talk to a live person. Who even did mine was
not really reading the details and that was the biggest part of there reversal.
My experience was shaky at first,, but they did give me an extra battery,, charger,, and a car charger for the tough book. I also have renewed with him. It was 650 iirc. I remember talking to rotunda and they said he has a bunch of subscriptions continuously. They are going to take care of him,,, he is a valued customer of Rotunda.
I did a bunch of research before buying,, I was aware that it would not work without a subscription. So I have been prepared for the renew fee.
If I were to do this again I would seriously look at that tech I was referred to, Ray. He runs Dealer Scan Tools. He actually uses these Diagnostic tools at work. I only know him from that one call. He is easy to talk to and has a sense of humor. Unlike a robot trying to get you off the phone. Super Duty Service, my hat is off to you working on these trucks.Being 60 and retired 5 yrs. , and not as tough as I used to be. I was sore after a couple of days of laying over the hood latch.
Just spent 2 hours typing up a detailed record of events and lost it all when I previewed it . Major nut buster when you type slow. Will try again when I cool down.
Save frequently, as you are typing, to a Word, or Wordpad file, that way, if you lose part of it, you don't have to type the whole thing over.
When you are ready, you can copy and paste it into an email, or a thread.
I see dealershipcloseouts is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
I bought my VCM through racerbrownn on eBay, also located in Minneapolis. I forget the guy's name (it may be the Ray you spoke to) but he was very helpful and I had no issues whatsoever. Always answered the phone and answered any questions I had before and after the sale. I have no idea if they are associated but surely they must know of each other.
I looked at my records and racerbrownn is in fact Ray who does (or did) business under AAA automotive diagnostic solutions
Lx460 , I was going to buy one but couldn't wait . I had towels and a heavy jacket on the latch but it still hurt.
Yep, Ray is the tech that DealerCloseOuts [Dustin] pushed me off to. ]He dose tech work for Dustin. And Ray does operate Dealer Scan Tools .Really nice guy and sincerely tried to resolve my issue. You can tell that by his site .
Igito, thanks, i'LL try that. Longest message I ever typed.
