my problem ended up being a bad injector on cylinder 2...mechanic was gonna go thru and check everything else out while he has it. ill let yall know if it turns out to be anything else
Sending the set to rosewood for rebuild?
If ones wore out....
the mechanic just replaced the bad one with a new one. he said all the other onces seemed fine. i think the bad valve cover wiring caused this one to go bad. he had to redo the wiring as well. he seemed pretty confident that he got it taken care of. trucks has what feels like double the power it had previously
I bet the injector was fine and the wiring was the issue.
The only electronic part on the injectors is the solenoids and they can be replaced for 30 bucks.
the injector was definately bad too according to the mechanic. he said the bad wiring could have caused the injector to go bad as well over time. either way its fixed and running like beast now so im happy.
Looking at this and asked my dad who knows a bit more about the issues that could arise with a 7.3 and he said he has had the same problem and it was the fuel rail under the drivers side door was all clogged up. He ran the tank a little low and then it clogged up. He had a loss of power and said his boost was extremely low and what happened was some crud got into his injector pump and it crashed that as well. Had to replace a lot of it. If you haven't found the cure yet, then I would definitely check the 'fuel rail'. To confirm I was with him when this happened and didn't think anything of it till I mentioned it to him. Also if you ran the tank low you could have some water in that tank, so I'd drain the separator and switch out the fuel filter!! Hope this helped!!
My lack of knowledge on these motors, I guessed it was an injector pump. Apparently there are none on this motor, so I guess it was just a fuel pump. MY BAD.

Reason: stupidity
I personally would not put one non matched/flowed who knows from where injector in.
But its not mine.glad it is running.
No wiring will ruin an injector... Bs excuse.
Then is there two fuel pumps?? We had to replace two I know for a fact and I was guessing that the second one was the injector pump. Had no clue to be honest.
