What year is this 223?

Based on the information so far, I am positive it is a 223 from '57-'60. I'll check the head bolts. I'd bet money it's a '60 based on the valve cover. The mount from my 215 is the same used on the 223 from '54-'56. It won't mount on this 223. I think it would be easy enough to fabricate a mount to fit the '53 crossmember. If I were to use the existing mounts, I would need to add a crossmember like the one in Earl. Thanks for all the help, guys. This forum is great!

Kevin,
Could you fab the stanchions off the back of the existing crossmember ala '57-60?
Adios,
Brett
PS. Learn something everyday (they changed the 223 mounting bosses in '57?!)

What year is this 223?

Dad measured the head bolts. They are 7/16" so I guess my final conclusion is that this is an early 1960 223. I plan to fabricate a mount to work with the '53 crossmember and 215/223 single engine mount. Now I just need to rebuild one of my carbs and see if we can get the 223 to run before putting it in storage.

Brett,
I think if I were to do that, the mounts wouldn't line up. I would need to add a crossmember like what is found in a '56.

Thanks again for all the help!
