What year is this 223?
Based on the information so far, I am positive it is a 223 from '57-'60. I'll check the head bolts. I'd bet money it's a '60 based on the valve cover. The mount from my 215 is the same used on the 223 from '54-'56. It won't mount on this 223. I think it would be easy enough to fabricate a mount to fit the '53 crossmember. If I were to use the existing mounts, I would need to add a crossmember like the one in Earl. Thanks for all the help, guys. This forum is great!

Dad measured the head bolts. They are 7/16" so I guess my final conclusion is that this is an early 1960 223. I plan to fabricate a mount to work with the '53 crossmember and 215/223 single engine mount. Now I just need to rebuild one of my carbs and see if we can get the 223 to run before putting it in storage.

I think if I were to do that, the mounts wouldn't line up. I would need to add a crossmember like what is found in a '56.
