Hello everyone I'm new to the Ford 6.0 deasil motor just got one from someone and the fusses and relays have been messed with. I have fuel up to the second fuel pump and it sounds like it's working but It just turns over. I purchased the Haynes manual but it doesn't have information on how to test the injectors or fuss box set up any help is appreciated thank you all
Welcome to wide world of 6.0s, a few things to help you and use out would be to get your self a scan gauge II from auto zone , then we will get you the Ford X gauges for you to load into the gauge so we can get some sensor Values to help Other wise it's a crap shoot for sure. unless you have a multi meter here are a few things to look at
1. test battery volts , make sure you do a load test with them separated not both hooked up in pairs.
2. in the Tech folders a learn test to check FICM ( main power ) VP vehicle power ) LP ( logic Power)
3. ICP try un hooking ICP connection and see if she will start up.
the FICM output voltage should be around 48 volts
The HPOP sounds like, if you dont have at least 500psi she wont start, so if you unplug the ICP towards the front of the right valve cover, if you unplug it the ECM with sub a valve of 1505 psi, which should make the truck start. then you know were to go. Yes a scan tool with live data is a must now. We need to see the duty cycle of the IPR, make sure we are getting a cam signal, Does the tach bounce a little while cranking? If so the cam sensor is OK. and were are back to the HPOP. Oil is clean and Full? Could have lost prime in the fuel pump, quick check is to loosen the lid on the filter and turn key on, should spill over. Hearing someone played with the fuse box/ relay box could lead to trouble. Good luck
its a 2006 ford f250 my friend got it at a auto auction he figured diesel would be easy to work on lol not any more a have a blue tooth OBD2 scanner ill try to see reading from it
These motors are easy to work on once you get a grasp on what the pcm needs to see to run. There are allot of nuts and bolts but most things are not really difficult to swap out. You have found a great community of people here on FTE. Stop by the tech folder when you get a moment there is ton of useful information there.
If you can get the DTC's from it then that will help, other wise scan gauge II with the ford X gauges will tell all, let us know what you need and I'm sure we can dust it off and get it for U.
I have a 2005 ex with a no start.
Picking up a scanguage 2 after work today. Can I get the xcodes?
Currently fuel tank is full, oil is full, 12.45v at batts.
Fuel bowl fills. 48.15v at FICM. KO, and while cranking.
Newer (less than one yr old) Wiring harness.
No start with IPC? unplugged.
No starting issues b4 yesterday when the no start happened.
Cranks over quickly.
