swapping to a E4OD is fairly simple although those are known to have their own problems, most of which are much more expensive to fix. When my E4OD went out, I had it rebuilt and it was never the same. In my opinion, you almost need to get a built E4OD for it to be worth it, but those are not cheap.
The swap cost will not pay itself off, unless you are deadset on an auto, and then you have to consider a built auto if you want it to last.... have fun with that 5k + bill. At times I wish I had an auto, but most of the time I enjoy the manual...
Sterner ditch the atf and run the redline. You will see a big difference in shifting as long as your bushings are good and the rod eye for the slave cylinder is not worn where it attaches to the clutch pedal. Get a flash light and go through all the points of movement for the clutch pedal. Last, it's not a sports car so downshifting has to be done under the correct speed. I had the same problems with my ZF getting rid of the atf made my truck a much more pleasant drive.
The oil is on order now and Yea I do not down shift I would tearjerker buy breaks the a clutch any day

I have to disagree with that, especially a stock trans. If you spend 5K on a built trans it will probably be very reliable. Otherwise, standard all the way for reliability.
