A buddy of mine has an 03 Ex with a V10 that I am purchasing from him. Currently it has a blown rear brake line that I will be fixing, now that it's warming up here in wonderful Minnesnowda.
So no... I currently don't have the truck in my driveway....
He has told me that intermittantly the speedo will drop to 0 and the ABS light comes on. He replaced the Rear diff speed sensor and that helped it from dead all the time to intermitant.
Any ideas guys? I'm a GM technician, that has been a Cummins guy for the last 12 years or so. So I'm not afraid to dive in and wrench, but I'm not very well versed in Fords.
TIA
Josh
My future plans for the truck include dropping a 12v Cummins into it.
Just making a guess here, but it wouldn't hurt to check the electrical connectors for corrosion and make sure all the grounds are good.
It's actually a good guess, I had a similar issue on my previous ex. Dealer wanted to sell me the abs module $$$... Me being me said ok order it see you in 3 days, I started disconnecting and cleaning everthing connector I could find. Fixed it self lol, just remember to disconnect battery to reset abs light. In most cases you have to drive her a little to get the light off even if battery is disconnected prior to.
As soon as I get the beast home I'll dig in.
I've got a scan tool, so I'm not worried about clearing the code.
I just can't find information anywhere as to which sensor ACTUALLY is for the speedo! LOL
