How do I find comparisons for my stolen F250 for insurance

Hi, just trying to prepare in advance for insurance...

Can anyone help me figure out where to get the comparatives for San Francisco (bay area), California? would appreciate any help... I'm finding that most don't have what I do on Craigslist. nada, kbb don't even have these options...

Had, 2006 F250 Lariat FX4,(the biggest cab, think extracab)ARP Head Studs, Bullet proof EGR Cooler, Bluespring Upgrade, new tires, new alternator and batteries, new CAC tube, stand pipe, New bed liner, New 5th wheel hitch. Fully synthetic oil.

I know most insurance companies won't consider upgrades to a truck. Like a lift or anything else done to the engine. They usually go by kelly blue book.

When I talked to mine they explicitly said they would use that, especially since the work was just done in November.

I would try to negotiate with them to find the closest to your truck that you can, then add the receipts for upgrades (parts at min) or web prices for parts if lost receipts. At least then it will be easier (financially) to build out another truck.

I think Ill have to do that on my next day off

I hope this process goes well for you, sounds like you have a good agent being they are willing to add the extras to the value.

I wouldn't expect your insurance to add value for maintenance items. Just like they don't detract from another vehicle when known that it had a broken windshield, faded paint and needed tires.

At best (I suspect) they'll just appraise it as better than average, or average, and offer a settlement. Unfortunately the battle will be yours to carry on.

Good photos of the truck help to show condition. Just don't
show then the one that shows a dent.

Yahiko is right. When I totaled my Chevy 2500 the insurance took $600 off of what the were paying me after finding 2 hail dents about 1/4" in size on top of the cab. If the truck is found and it has dents make sure you don't say that might have been there before.

I totaled a 1987 Ranger 4 banger when it was just at the year old mark.
I had replaced the the lights with the Hella H4 glass and metal units and
totally got rid of the sealed beam ones. I talked to the adjuster and she must
of been having a nice day. I got the cost the lamps added to the total and she
also up graded the condition to a level that is close as you can get to just off
the lot new. So I basically got all the cost back for that truck.

Some times it helps some times it can hurt to talk directly to the adjuster.
I think I got lucky on that one.

Help

I had my 1999 stolen. Get quotes from dealers in your area. It does have to be a online dealer. Don't use craig's list. Stick with real dealers, your looking for 6.0 2007. Get them at least 4.

Submitted the 4 like trucks with your upgrade receipts. I did this on my 1999 truck and it up the what I received by 3 grand. You don't have to take their first offer.

This is the best advice you can get. Document document document and don't give in. It's also why it's SO important to know what's in your insurance policy when you buy as not all insurance companies will cover aftermarket parts and want to treat them simply as "maintenance items" which they will NOT cover.
