Moved over here after trading my 2006 f250 6.0 Friday for a 2018 F250 King Ranch short bed! Looking forward to read about mods that ya'll have done.
Wil be getting spray bedliner next week and in the market for new fifth wheel hitch as I let old one go with trade. Any recommendations for a hitch would be appreciated!
Welcome!
Hope you brought your wallet!
This place is real hard on a credit card...
I too came from an ‘06 To 17. The 17 got wrecked and I have an 18 on order to replace it.
I must be the odd duck in this. I am not making a single modification. I can't even think of anything that would make the truck more comfortable, more durable, or more capable than it is. I special ordered the truck exactly how I wanted it. No huge tires, extra lights, deleting this or that, 800lb bumpers or anything. I'm probably going to be shunned for such shameful thought.
First off, for all we know you're lying to us about getting a new KR. I mean after all, we dont have any pictures for proof.

Nah, Im the same way and Im only 23. Cant stand lifted trucks and aftermarket wheels. Honestly now days a truck on stock wheels is more unique. Having said that I wouldnt mind a level on 35's.
It’s the 6-12” lifted trucks on 24” or large wheels with rubber band tires I can’t stand. I have 3.5” lift on 20” aftermarket wheels on 37” tires and I think it looks great on these size of trucks.

I recommend getting the Puck Gooseneck hitch from Ford OEM. My dealer after market installer charges $1,125 for the parts and install. Its been tested and proved by Ford. B&W is another popular option, although a little cheaper, I don't like the fact the pin release is under the wheel well, where it is usually dirty or muddy. Nothing worse than trying to rotate the ball oaver after pulling your cattle trailer and having to grab under there in the mud and muck and then climbing back into your KR interior. Anyway, just my two cents.

Rancho RS9000xl shocks would make it more comfortable, and a nice tonneau, like the Retrax pro would add utility.

I'm with you too. I came from an '06 to a '17 and bought the '17 when I was 23. I'm not as interested in aesthetic mods (lift, wheels/tires, bumpers) as I am technical/functional. Headache rack, warning light package, plow equipment, FORScan changes. But that's the beauty of this place, everyone takes a similar truck and makes it their own!
Congrats on the new KR, OP! Will be looking forward to seeing your future mods!
