hpop adjustment bolt

hello everyone,
im new to this site and im in need of some help. i have a 2003 ford f250 7.3l powerstroke with 152,000 miles. i have a leak coming from my hpop. i took it to a mechanic and the attempted to put a rebuild kit on the pump, but did not fully fix it. they said it was leaking out of the adjustment bolt but, the bolt does not screw loose. they said i would need a new pump. i am asking if this adjustment bolt is true or not. i can not seem to find any info on this bolt,so im at square one. looking for any advice.

thanks,
terry.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Could you send us a picture that highlights the location of the "adjustment bolt"?

Find a new Mechanic.

The HPOP is a Gerotor oil pump. It just mates to the drive gear and goes round, round, round sump, sump, sump, pressure, pressure, pressure........

Here are pics of the one I removed off of truck at a salvage yard yesterday.

Just choose the picture that has it in it...could be more than one...and give us the location.

Could it be he's referring to a bad "O" Ring, leaking Non-Serviceable Plug, IPR, or something else?

You'll need to remove the pump and repair it with this: Serviceable Long Threaded HPOP Plug - Riffraff Diesel Performance

Welcome to FTE. There is no adjustment bolt on the HPOP. Either identify which bolt is in question in the pictures above, or find a new mechanic that at least can look up what bolt does what.

My bad 13,000 and it is over 2 years old. it is a new Bosch from Riffraff. disappointing to remove and fix an engineering defect. I don't even know what the Bosch warranty is but 13,000 is sad. I ordered the recommended parts from Riffraff.

I don't know that will have any warranty. However, you could always call Riffraf and possibly meet an amicable agreement on a replacement. Or, Just re seal the one you have. In either event, you'll be removing and reinstalling.
