headlight dimmer switch
Has anyone changed the dimmer switch? Mine has been acting up. It takes several trys to switch to the high beams. Tonight it got stuck on high. Had to turn so turned on the blinker and it switched back to low.

I'm sorry I was in a panic as my wife trying to dim the lights on the crazy thing.
Is it something easily done? Sounds like maybe it is. Do I just pop off the column cover or is it a little more involved?
Should I go for the Motorcraft version or is another brand just as good?

It's not a critical part, so you could get whatever you want. The cheaper ones might have a different look and feel to them though, but I'd say Airtex/Wells or Standard is two safe brands to bet on. They have dimmer switches at less than 80 bucks on rockauto, swapping them is probably a pretty straight forward procedure

Once the cover is off, it's just a couple of screws and wiring connectors. Yes, it's an easy repair. Navigator and Expedition switches are not interchangeable, so be sure you get the correct one.
