I have noticed that in the past week that when I start my engine I can hear a ticking sound from what seems to be the top of the engine. It only lasts roughly 5 seconds when the engine is first fired up and then it quits. I mentioned it to a coworker, who also owns a pretty respected performance shop in Columbus, OH, and he said it sounded like one of my hydraulic lifters is a little slow to respond. He said that if the sound goes away shortly after starting the engine it should be fine, but if the sound ever continues that I should have it checked out.
With that said, it this sound advice or should I have it looked at? I'm currently past my warranty with 62,xxx miles on the truck.

Hi awq134,
Since you're concerned, it wouldn't hurt to swing by your local dealership so they can inspect. If you decide to go that route, let me know and I'll do what I can to assist.
