Max bumper hitch weight
What is the max weight that I can tow using the stock bumper hitch on my 66 f250? I've got a camper that I'd like to pull with it that weights between 2500 and 3000 lbs. Am I going to rip my bumper off?

The factory installed C4TZ-17906-A (Painted) and C4TZ-17906-B (chrome) contoured rear bumpers didn't have a hitch so any hitch has to be either dealer installed or aftermarket. Since Ford didn't install them I doubt you'd find any tow rating for a dealer installed or aftermarket bumper from that era. Can you share a picture of what is installed on your truck?

You'd probably be OK. Not sure anyone can guarantee it, though.

griff, You probably can get by pulling a light weight camper with that bumper. There have been boats pulled with those things for years.
After saying that, you would be better off pulling it with a Class 3 receiver hitch.
