Hey all,
Time to start a tire jar...what have you guys found to be the best longest lasting tires to run on an F350 4x4 Dually, once a month i will do 500 miles pulling an 10,000lb trailer. I am not lifted and am running stock wheels, Aluminum fronts and rear outers. I currently have BFG Rugged Trail T/A's.
Thanks.
My 2005 F-350SD 4x4 has the original tires on it! (31,500 miles & 10 years old!!) And they're getting somewhat cracked etc.......
Since I have 17" (8x200mm bolt-circle) wheels, I am having a hard time finding choices other than the OEM 245-70R17 tires (that appear to be too small !!)
There's not really other sizes that will work on my wheels.
My only other choice is to go with other size wheels and I have considered going to 19.5" wheels B I G $$$$$
decent 19.5" tires are $400 PER! AND wheels are NOT cheap either!
My old truck had 19.5s. Unless you don't care about ride, or type that heavy, don't waste your money. If you just want the look, know the trade offs besides costs. You'll also want a different spare wheel and tire...
You can for larger tires too. I run 285/70-17 now.

Did you have to use spacers between the rears with the wider tires?
I have Michelin LTX on the rear of my truck and will never buy them again.
They are way to soft and the wear is rotten.
I have Toyo's on the front and they are much better.
Now this is on a truck that weights in at 12,000 lbs every day and the most miles I have ever gotten out of tires is 40k rear and 30k front.
I put over 120k on the outside rear tires on my truck. They were Michellin LTX/MS. I have all LTX/MS2 on it now. I also run them on my 5th wheel. I haven't owned a better tire.
