New tires

Hey gang, I have a 2011 F-450 KR DRW and will need tires soon. I pull a 5th wheel and it's heavy, weighed in at 23,980 pounds loaded so I am wondering what tires you guys think are the best and would recommend? I have Bridgestone on it currently.

Thanks,

Dave

Did anybody respond. I'm doing the same thing for F350 DRW with a slightly lighter trailer. What the heck are you towing BTW? I don't think you get many choices with the 19.5 wheels. Goodyear G114s might come in 19.5 and a G or even H rating. I have 17.5 GY on my trailer, H rated and holding up well at 5 years,

Thanks for the reply Stanley, no other replies... I figured I must have asked my question wrong or it was stupid! lol

I am pulling a 2017 DRV Mobile Suites Santa Fe, it's 44' and heavy! My tires are 17" and I'm leaning on Goodyear tires, they have a 10 ply that looks like it will work well.

I will have to look at what I have on my truck. I bought a set of nearly new steers but the drives are what came with the truck. Drives are a retread that I think is Bandag BDR-AS tread https://www.bandag.com/en-us/products/30/dra not really sure as they came on the truck. Traction seems ok but I am looking for a pattern with a little more void when I get new ones. I have put 18,000 miles on them in the past year and a half without issue. I will see what the casings are and the fronts also.

I have a smaller MS and a lot older. It came with the G114 load range G. They lasted 5 years, I tried to squeeze out one more summer trip, Two blow outs later I switched to the H for the trailer. 10 ply "E" should work on your truck. From what I read there aren't a lot of choices for the 19.5 wheels. Anyway, good luck.

Did the 3011 F-450s come with 19.5s, or was that one of the years they scaled down to a 17 inch E rated tire?
