something smells hot...exhaust?

Hello group,

I'm trying to isolate this hot smell in my van and happens when I'm heavy on the throttle or when I'm slowly climbing a hill. When I look out the rear view mirror during the day I don't see any smoke but at night I can see haze in the headlights behind me.

Everything is stock with BB injectors going in a couple years ago and a new to me IP at the same time when I parked it. Now that the new batteries are in it starts and runs quieter (inside the van) than ever before.

I don't have a pyrometer yet so I cannot tell you the exhaust temps but the water gauge seldom goes above O in NORMAL.

The tail pipe has a hole in it at the bend behind the rear time if that is a symptom. The exhaust is stock and in good condition (except for the hole)according to the muffler shop.

Thoughts?
