I bought the Moog poly radius arm bushings for my 97 F350 and the kit has a couple extra pieces that were not originally on the truck. (in fact, both sides were different, thanks previous owner!) The kit had no install diagram so I'm not entirely certain how these are supposed to go on.
There's a black plastic piece whose placement is baffling me. Can anyone post a photo of the kit properly installed on the truck? Moog's website only shows the kit, and I've been unable to find an installation diagram online.
Also, does anyone know what the 1 1/8" nuts are to be torqued to?
I'm not very familiar with the 2wd setup, but that looks like the bushing used at the pivot points on the TTB. A barreled bushing gets pushed in with a mushroomed end on one side, then that piece you are holding goes at the other end to give a little more "shoulder" of a bushing, sort of mimicking the mushroom on the other end.
That looks right, if you put it together wrong I wouldn't think there would be enough thread to put the nut back on. Not sure about the torque I was probably around 150 lbs when i did mine and no problems over the last 20000 miles
I originally had the black cap between the rear mushroom and washer but never felt that to be correct. I never tightened it down much either because I wasn't sure.
This went together pretty easy. There was one pop when I hit a speedbump right as I started driving so I think things had to settle a little, but no creaking or popping as I drove about 15 miles just to sort it out. I torqued to about 100ft-lbs, but noticed the threads bottomed out too. Is that supposed to happen?
