Radius Arm Bushing Qustion. HELP!

Hey guys, need your expertise! I have a '78 F150 4x4 and I replaced radius arm bushings and I think I may have put it together wrong. I looked through the Ford shop manual and all the parts catalogs and I cant find this part or its assembly order anywhere. I took it apart months ago and cant remember how it came out, should have taken pictures. Its a very thick washer and I installed it towards the front. Can anyone tell me whether its supposed to go on the front side of the frame mount or on the back side of the mount? Sure hope I don't have to take it all apart again. Thanks so much!

Hey Heliguy, I just went out and took a look at my 77 F150 R XLT and I have two of those thick washers.... one in front and one in back. Maybe you misplaced them.... at least the back one is no problem to install!! I guess a PO could have added one to mine.

Weird! So you have 4 washers of each arm? I have 1 large washer on the front of the arm then the thick spacer thing, then 1 large washer that goes on before the nut. Thanks for checking for me.

Mine were on the back before I went with cage long arms. I don't think it'll really matter for you though. It's mostly to take up the space between the bushings and add a little more metal for wear. At worse it just increased your wheel base by 1/4", LOL

Now I have to go look at mine LOL.......I replaced all the bushings in mine and it ate the track bar bushings in about 3000 miles. If the front axle is too far forward, It would cause the track arm bushings to not be aligned properly which would eat them up.........

When hipoparts.com scanned the 1973/79 truck catalog, they omitted the 1978/79 F150 4WD front suspension picture.

1978/79 Bronco (listed in the car parts catalog) is the same picture as 1978/79 F150 4WD

Note: 1977 or earlier F150 4WD is not the same!

Thanks Number dummmy! Looking at this picture I don't even see that thick washer, wonder why. I have the two in the picture but I have that extra one. Guess Ill just keep it where it is.
