My son has a 2008 long bed. He said he just filled up from between a quarter and a half on the fuel gauge and when he started the truck the gauge stayed where it was at prior to the filling. On the way home, he said it slowly climbed to full.
Anything for us to look at and/clean up, or does something need to be replaced?
^+1 on adding the prescribed dosage of Techron, its touted by Chevron to be able to tidy up fuel sender corrosion from using high sulphur content fuel.
If he'll use Chevron, Texaco, Caltex, or now Shell, all of which have some PEA in their ad pack, along with the 20oz dose of Techron, it'll raise the treat rate 10X above pump gas alone & run most of the treated tank out before refilling, may bring joy in one treated tank. If he gets a positive result, continuing to use one of the fuels with PEA in its ad pack may be able to prevent return of the problem.
