Heck got some help - might tackle pulling the engine
My ageing older brother (he is nine years older than I) is in town this weekend. I know he is bored hanging out my mom's home (where I work on the trucks because she has a garage and I a driveway).
So, I am going to see if he is up to helping me pull the engine. Not sure what I will do with the engine after we pull it, but I would like to see if I can figure out how to do a valve job, replace the oil pan gasket, rebuild the clutch and a few other things (not all this weekend obviously).
Kind of hoping getting back to work on the truck might improve my demeanor.
Then again, this may just be a flash in the pan and I will end up sitting on my **** or painting the work room as I am supposed to be trying to get our house ready to sell.
that plan went south. Life got in the way. Will just have to force myself to get to it on that truck. If I let it languish, I had better get rid of it. Had another thread started about a shortcut I had considered taking to getting it running some better without pulling the engine. Apparently not a great idea. Wish I had not already spent the bucks on the auto trans ($400), power steering pump and bracket ($150), power steering gear ($150), Steering columns (2x $200) and the front grille components (about $450 all totaled up). No telling where else I have squandered bucks. Jeez, when I see it in black and white, I feel even worse (:

Chin up there buddy. Life isn't always up"hill". All kidding aside, Bumps and Bruises are simply lessons. Learn from them and grow. Don't spiral down. Always aim ahead. Move forward. Sometimes it's 2 steps forward and 1 step back but AAAAAH.
