Turn Signals in mirrors for 1996?
BigBroncos.Com shows that the 1996 Broncos started turn signals in the mirrors...however ours does not have them and the local ford guy doesn't show a mirror that does that, but obsolete parts may not be on the current list.
Anyone know if it's possible....my dad likes them and I have taken apart so many doors to fix broken power mirrors I can do them in my sleep
I am sort of restoring this truck for him as a gift...he wished he could buy it new, and slowly it's becoming just that.
Now I want one...was going to buy a Porsche 944 Turbo, but sort of torn now.

The early versions of those mirrors were susceptable to the silvering deteriorating for some strange reason. Perhaps the fact that there is no coating over the silvering on the back side where the LEDs show through the reflective surface. Most mirrors have the silvering then a black painted coating to seal the entire back side of the mirror. I would think that finding a set and making certain the silvering was in good shape would be a good start. Mirror shops can resilver them and for a piece of glass that small it shouldn't be too ridiculuosly expensive.

I'd let my fingers do the walking on the mirror shop.
Most of the mirrors are attached with an adhesive there may be a solvent for it or a procedure for removing it but I am not aware of the best method. I have always replaced ones that had been broken or fallen off already so as for removing ones that are still well attached, I'm not very well versed.
There are about twenty or so lisitngs in the Yellow Pages here under "mirrors" many of which list "resilvering" as an offered service.
