Hey guys, I've got a 2014 5.0 with 3.55 limited slip gears. It's a 4x4, with a 5 star tune (lifetime tunes), an Afe stage 2 intake, and flowmaster super 10 catback exhaust. Which mod (headers or 4.10's) would be most beneficial? Don't care about gas mileage at all, so that's a non-factor. Which would be most beneficial as far as light to light drags and some pulls from a 50-60 roll? Also, which would be the most bang for the buck?
With any performance driven ride, being able to take a bigger breath only helps if the vehicle can exhale all that extra air, a cat-back was a good start to open up the back end of the exhaust, but it all starts with the choke point right out of the exhaust manifold
You'll notice the 4.10's much more than the headers. Nothing wrong with putting the headers on but you've still got catalytic converters in the way of the exhaust. The mechanical leverage from the 4.10's will really make a difference. I just put a set in my old '67 and it was night and day difference. Now it's hard not to spin the rear tires.
I'd definitely be going catless haha I know the inspector and he'd pass me without 😏 but yea it's kind of a wash right now I'm just not sure which id enjoy more haha
They'll both work hand in hand. The gears will allow you to increase the engine speed quicker which will allow the intake/exhaust enhancements to work better. Have fun!
