steering wheel

i got a steering colum from pull and save the other day and installed it into my 69 f-250 everything went well except when i went to hook up the wires everything was there except the small two wire plug in,it was on the colum but i can't figure out where the other end goes to. the wiring under the dash has been hacked so much it is a pain to fix and the signal wasn't shutting off by itself so i took the steering wheel off and found the little plastic arms on the movable part was broke off fixed that by using part of the old switch and holding it together at the pivot with a dab of silicon, that part works, but when i went to put the steering wheel back on the nut tightened all the way then something stripped out,the nut turns but it won't go any further down and i can't get it back up i will try vice grips next or just hope i don't have to take it apart anytime soon. i also found a wiper switch and bezel and that's all installed but i noticed a wire that looks faded red or light red up by the wiper maybe that has something to do with it not sure. now if i could get the tranny linkage to hook up i would be happy. is the difference between a car c6 and a truck c6 the linkage this one points down not up(damn)

The linkage pointing up or down is console or column shift. One diff between car and truck c6's is the length of the output shaft and extension housing.
