torque pro ?

So I got the torque pro app and a bluetooth reader. I was able to get the reader to connect with my tablet but it says the reader cant talk to my ECU. Torque help section says it supports this type of reader but apparently it cant talk to the truck. Is there something I am missing to try or do I need to get another scanner?

Make sure the fuse isn't blown for the obd port, it shares one with the cigarette lighter outlet

Ok next step I would try is making sure it's plugged into the port prior to turning the key to the on position

That's the adapter I have, and it's always worked flawlessly. You might try going into the profile you have set up for your truck and changing the settings so it isn't auto detecting the protocol. Set it to use SAE J1850 PWM (41.6k baud). See if will connect that way.

I don't know if this is what timmyboy76 was saying, but nothing will work if the key is off. Pikachu gave great advice there. I always set my OBDII stuff to go directly to J1850 PWM 41.6k baud.

Well, I messed with it a little more and got it to connect but it did not stay connected. I got tired of fooling with it, had enough for today..lol Ill try some settings tomorrow. What is the little symbol top left that flashes? It looks like a thumbtack with a line through it.

I will have to try this. I have bought 2 different OBD2 bluetooth adapters that people say work and can't get them to communicate with the PCM.

It's GPS. It will flash till the GPS gets locked in.
