Why not just go to ford and pickup a new pump? You can check with Blackstock Ford and e-mail her and she will tell you if they had any problems, I have a quarter million miles on my pump and still runs fine. You never know what your going to get with aftermarket, since China entered the game the race is on to rebox all kinds of parts, timken, dorman, raybestos, there all reboxed and you dont know what's in there. They have to put a tax and a tariff on all this crap coming in from china, there is no quality control, there mixing metals, putting it out there cheap, real cheap, and unfortunetly the US companies picked up on it and there throwing that garbage in there boxes, and the warehouses are doing the same. I buy direct from ford and never had a problem, Got a hub bearing the other day, sweet comes with ABS sensor, lugs new bolts, seals and o-rings for $198.00 cheaper than Napa, pep boys and a couple other places I called, in stock 3-36 warranty.
ran hose from pump to hubs turned off
test drove 4x4 would turn on and off so did pump
ran hose from pump to connector under glove box , everything worked inside the cab but pump did not turn off when blowing through the dash , did turn off when turned dash control to off or to defrost
i had an extra set of dash controls from a few yrs ago when i had the same problem but never used them , still the same problem
I only had it for a year BUT it probably gets 5 years worth of usage during that time.
I have a medium vacuum leak that makes the pump on all the time.
To lazy to find it
Maybe someone will correct me but as long as you have hydroboost brakes the pump breaking is no big deal.
Oh. And actually it is loud.
I mean, you can't hear it over the engine but when you're starting the truck it does make a noise.
One more point about durability: think about it as a fish tank air pump in reverse. Those thing will work for 20 years non stop in a home environment.
The only reason these fail on trucks is the diaphragm (which i would guess is rubber) dries out and cracks.

So....what makes you think getting stuff from napa is any better?
I'd suggest doing a search here on counterfeit parts that show up there all the time.
It really is dealer, or you might as well get whatever is the cheapest on ebay.
