Sloppy shifter

All of a sudden, I have so much slop in my shifter that it won't go all of the way into Park sometimes. I pulled the cover off of the column, and I've read where the Torx bolts tend to loosen up. they seemed to be tight, but on the outermost clamp, there was a plastic sleeve that seems to belong in there, but slides out. I slid it back into place, and that helped a little bit temporarily (I think it slipped out again) but there was still a lot of play in the inned clamp. Are these sleeves easily replacable? Withoug pulling the steering wheel?

OK, Got it fixed. The dealership had the replacement plastic bushings, and they were a qiuck 5 minute replacement. That didn't solve the problem. At the bottom of the shift linkage (but still above center of the steering column, there is a mounting plate that mounts the shifter cable to the linkage. Same T25 bit tightened up the 2 loose bolts. Kind of a **** to get to them. Had to lay upside down on my back to see them in the first place, then just worked the ratchet up by feel to find the 2 bolts. Hopefully this helps someone down the road.

It will most definitely help me Dan. Mine has been doing this and getting worse for the past couple of months. I only hadn't asked yet because I'm recovering from knee surgery and can't do anything at the moment. It's on my list for this weekend though. Gracias!

and sometimes tightning up those two unseen bolts will not fix the problem.
everything on my shift tube is tight, and it still will not go into park sometimes.

i have to make sure it is engaged before getting out of the truck, or it will roll away.
my problem is in the trans itself.

I *seriously* hope this is a shifter column part and not a trans problem, that would really ruin my day. Will add to this once I get to it next week for future reference.
