Scott, could you use one of these skid steer plates as a starting point to make something to push snow?

It seems like the volume will not reset until the next day. For example, I wear mine for a couple of hours on a job, throw them in the trailer and drive 10 minutes to the next job...volume will not go louder than the previous job.

I still like my 562 well enough to keep it; if you get the Stihl we’ll await reviews!

Oh, I'm very happy with the 562. I just don't need two larger saws and the funds from the 562 would help the 500i purchase. They are VERY expensive. Heck, part of me says to sell the T540XP II as well since the battery top handle is performing so well. Do I really need two high end top handle saws? Hmmm.....

I decided I should keep the gas T540. It's sweet to have a lighter saw when doing small trees and limbing and the warden won't let me near her battery 540 if she's in the woods too. However, I did talk to a buddy who wants the 562XP so it looks like a Stihl 500i is in my future.

Man, fuel injected saw. That sounds awesome, but I'm sure my 550XP is worth nothing used . . .and that saw is $1,300 bucks new!

Ouch!

Steve, covid pricing helps all used sellers right now. You could always throw a feeler on CL or FB Marketplace and see if anyone bites. It's free to try...

I could, but starting with a complete bucket gives me the plate and a back to work with. Burn out the bottom, cut to width, weld on sides and braces, drill holes in old back for cutting edge. I have my inventory control guy at work looking for me. Hopefully he can come up with one that somebody ran though the edge and got into the bucket, or bent the lip, or otherwise scrap that means nothing to me and can be had for pennies.

I'll intentionally build it light, and add a back drag edge to the top. If I can find a starter bucket the rest is easy!

Count me in as another Work Tunes user. Love mine with one exception...the volume isn't quite loud enough to listen to audio books over the noise of the tractor. Streaming music is fine as is radio (needed for Cardinal ball games while cutting grass).

24db seems kind of low. The gel cup is even lower at 23db. I've already lost hearing, so I need all the protection I can get.

That's what I thought too Jim. When they come in I'm going to do a test vs. the 35db muffs I have in the barn. Will see how they stack up. I'm wondering if 3M is a little more accurate on their ratings vs. the Chinese units? Heck, years ago you just bought ear protection. You had no idea about db or what the numbers were. You just knew that wearing them made things quieter while cutting or shooting.

Nice jig Roy. I have the 18V model and am very happy with it!

Thats cool Lee, pre MS I had a 35 year career in Aviation Maint. and Management. I flew as well but enjoyed the Tech side more. I preferred Cessna also.

Heres a fun one, a few years ago I got to use my wife’s Grandfathers Ford wrench on a Ford airplane.

Ford Tri-Motor........the smoke jumpers out of Missoula MT used one for years. It was still operational around the mid 1960’s if I remember correctly.
I think I still sits out in the front yard there.

That’s great! A tri-motor came through here a few years back and gave people rides. It’s a cool airplane. Also cool that you have a real Ford wrench. It’s one of my favorite tools, but all the ones I’ve had/used have been Crescent branded.

I also have MS. Diagnosed in 2001. Other than being mostly blind in one eye, I have been extremely fortunate with the lack of progression. I hope that you are managing well.
