db readings Diesel Power Cetane Boost

Well, I did some db readings before and after adding Diesel Power Cetane Boost.

And tracked this one tank for MPG.

The next tank will be for a 4 number Cetane Boost and 2 stroke oil.

Higher cetane should theoretically lower the noise level.

B20 is quite a bit quieter than standard diesel given it's higher cetane.

I wouldn't expect cetane to do much for noise, the B20.... yes.

Higher cetane equals quieter combustion process.

The only time you'll hear the injectors in during coasting.

I finished my first tank with STA-BIL diesel cetane boost. I have to say I noticed no difference between that and Motorcraft Cetane boost. My mileage and engine noise both remained the same. I started running B20 about 6 months ago, my motor is noticeably quieter and I'm getting better mileage then last winter.

I will continue to run the Cetane boost. Before running an additive my EGR valve was caked with crap after 10k miles. After running additive for 45k miles my EGR valve just had a light flaky dust that could be wiped down easy enough. Since then my EGR cooler has been deleted so no I never check the valve, but the Cetane boost seemed to get me a cleaner burn.

Here is an update to db readings. I kept the video short. The out come was interesting on one point, the interior quieted about 3 dh's. While the inside of driver side wheel remained the same.

No additives in one, 2 stroke oil mixed at 1 ounce per gallon in the other.

I ran two tanks/ 1 bottle of the Diesel Power Cetane Boost. I didn't notice any improvement in noise, power or mpg.

Stuff sure does stink though.

I'll still try another bottle out of curiousness
