I have an f350 and it came with the snow plow package, does this make the front end of the truck sit higher? I was thinking about getting a leveling kit for it but when i measured there is only about 1 inch difference between the front and back.
Plow package is a larger alternator and +2 front springs. The higher rate front springs do cause trucks with this package to sit closer to level, but they are not "lift" springs, they just sag less.
Look at "Front GAWR" on your VIN sticker, the closer it is to 6000# the higher the rated springs are: (5200# on this pic)
I just bought a '15 250 with snow plow package and it seems to sit level already. I don't think I would bother adding a level kit on top of the plow package. Especially because I don't plan to put a plow on it.
For leafs, the Snow Plow Package should have X-code front springs (6000#). They would set the front end about an inch and some change higher than V-codes (5200#), a little over an inch and a quarter over U-codes (4800#), almost an inch and a half over T-codes (4400#) and not quite an inch and three quarters over S-codes (4000#).
These are assuming a V10 engine. I'm guessing the change would be a touch greater with V8's, and a touch lesser with the diesel.
I've got an early-99 F-250 with the v8- the early 99's have an insane need for leveling, as they had the taller rear block out back- I plan to switch out my T-codes for X-codes and see what that does for me. If your truck is newer and has coils up front, I have no idea about the specs on those...
its a 2013 so it has coils. I knew they were a more heavy duty spring for sag and not a lift spring but didnt realize that they also made the truck sit higher. Good for me, i can save the time and money of putting on the leveling kit
