Neutral safety Switch

Having issues with my shifter and nutraul safety switch.. I think I may need a new switch completely but I read on a previous forum and mine seems to not be in the gear it says it is. I took the old switch off in park but the switch was aligned at nutraul. Tried moving the shifter lever into nutraul while it was connected to the bolt on the transmission and putting the switch back on, but still didn't worK. When I removed the switch again after putting it back into park, it was slightly off nutraul, but I'm thinking it was actually reverse and not park (on the nss) How can I tell which is park position on the switch? Or of my gear is actually in park or if it's really in reverse? Doesn't seem like shifter on the colum goes into 1st gear or park and tried adjusting the red pin on the dash, under steering column but dont wanna mess with it til I know which gears I'm getting.

Make sure the 2 torx bolts shown in this thread are tight.

For the park/reverse thing...if the truck will roll it's not in park.
