I'm new to the forum & have on order a 2015 F250 XLT, Crew cab, 6.2L, 4.30 gear with a delivery date of April 22nd. Is there an identification number somewhere on the rear end that states the gear ratio? I have read on here where someone ordered a truck with a specific gear and received the wrong gear when it arrived. I believe it was due to the salesman but I now have a concern ever though it is identified on the window sticker.
Odds are in your favor you will get what you ordered. I suspect the person who received the "wrong gear" was due to a dealer ordering error not a build error at the factory.
With a 4.30 gear, you will know pretty quickly if installed when you first drive it.
So, do not worry about it till the truck comes. I highly suspect you have more important things in life that need to be worried about.
Mine came with these two stickers on the front axle. It also has a tag on the front of the axle that says 4.30. The top sticker is on top of the pumpkin and the bottom sticker is on the back of the axle tube. They are both on the front axle.
He doesn't have a door sticker. His truck is not scheduled to be delivered till April 22. Sounds like he is worrying over nothing at this point in time.
There should also be a metal tag on one of the differential bolts, its about 1/2 wide and about 1 1/2 inches long. It will have a bunch of numbers and letters but the first ones should be 4L30, the L is for limited slip, if the truck has an open rear the space where the L is will be empty.
