Indicator stalk elec problem

1995 E350 based Chinook. Indicator stalk.
Went to get the vehicle tested over here the other side of the pond and the indicators stopped working on the way after using the hazards, Now the hazards work but no indicators on the stalk. the LH indicator comes on with the brake, all the rear lights and driving lights flash with the lights on and the instrument lights have failed. I got the stalk unit disconnected and everything else returned to normal (except indicators).
Anyone have a similar experience?

Little hard to read your explanation, But, the way I read it, is your turn singles failed after you used the Hazards, correct?

On that era, '92-'96, the brake lights are tied into the hazards, which is also tied into the turn singles. (along with the headlight dimmers and the wiper control.)

Replacing the Multi-function switch would be the first item to do.

Here's a link to access and replacement from the tech folder.

Normally, the problems you explained, are solved with the switch replacement.

If you still have problems, drop back in and explain the issue, and someone will address it at that time.

Spot on!
I removed the stalk unit and took it apart (springs levers little contacts - nightmare) and a little peg was broken which moves the set of contacts left or right. It was stuck in the middle with obvious consequences. I made a temp repair and it works perfectly. All the external lights are now working. My only problem now is the instrument illumination fuse keeps blowing. I don't know if its related or not. Might as well sort it as the dash is all out to get at the stalk.
