Cluster/Tail lights not working

I Own a Ford F-250 Superduty XLT and recently both my Tail lights and Instrument panel light have stopped Working. I have checked the fuses and cant seem to find anything wrong there. The only modifications on the truck have been a set of Flowmaster Exhausts. If anyone could give me some suggestions or tips on why they both have stopped working it would be appreciated.

What year is it?

And your front marker lights do work?

And the misc other lighting in the dash does work(heater control illumination)?

Do your rear license plate lights work?

Your brake lights do work?

I am just trying to narrow the problem down to what it might be.

it is a 1999

From what i can tell the front marker lights are not working either

The various warning and signal lights as well as the guages themselves work in the dash its just the illumination for the dials like speedometer and tachometer that dont work.

The License plate lights dont work

My brake lights do work as well as my headlights and highbeams

If you need any more details just let me know.

Ok. The whole running light circuit is out. And this circuit also drives the dash lamps through another fuse. If it was an older truck, I would tell you to pull the headlight switch out, and check the tan/white wire going to the plug of the switch. It usually burns in two. Since you have a newer truck, I had better check my diagrams though when I get home.

It's going to be a fuse problem, or something near or around the headlight switch.

I looked at the diagrams. Not much has changed from the old trucks. There is a fuse that feeds a tan/white wire which goes directly to the headlight switch. Coming out of the switch to feed all the running lights in the truck is a brown wire.

What may be different, is the fuse is #8, 15 amp, located under the hood on the driver's side. Have you looked in this fuse box?

just came back from autozone with some fuses, I didnt even notice that this fuse was broken because the entire fuse was missing, so i threw a 15 in there, burned it right up. so i tested for about a second with a 30 amp. It worked so i took that out and tried another 15 again. seems to be working but my instruments still didnt light up although that may be because the car wasnt turned on.

You may have gone ahead and burned up or cleared away the problem with the 30 amp fuse. So take a careful survey and see if one of the lights is not working. If you find one not working, I would inspect the wiring carefully feeding that light and try to find what the problem was.

My Instrument panel still isnt working so the problem is not totally cleared up but as far as the tail lights and parking lights go they all work for now. Just got to figure out the dash lights now.

Is the dimmer in the "on" position? I am sure you already checked, but it never hurts to state the obvious.
