Wondering if Ford made a bullnose F250 with a short bed. I'd really like to put my stepside/flareside (keep it to yourself) bed on something that can pull a mountain. I drive an '06 F250/7.3 powerstroke at work all day and want the same feel when I'm playing around on the weekends. Little F100 just ain't made to hold up that heavy of a motor.
Thanks, Ben

I don't know the answer to your question, although I don't think they made a short bed F250. However, I have a question for you - why do you think the F100 can't hold up "that heavy of a motor"? And, how heavy do you mean? The F100's frame is the same as the F150's and they came wih 460's from the factory. And, several here have put diesels in their F150's. So, why can't it "hold up that heavy of a motor"?

No regular cab short beds in the F250/350. In the late 90's you could get the super cab and crew cab with a short bed in an F250.
The F250/350 frames are thicker, 1/4" vs 3/16", but others the same flight the most part.
The 80-96 F150 never came with a 460 from the factory. I think the biggest engine you could get was a 351, but I'm not sure about the 80-82 trucks. The 400 might have been available.
460's and diesels have been swapped in, but I'd be worried if you plan on using it like an F250. The frame will be under more stress being thinner.

Further contemplation leads me to believe that I should get another truck if I want a diesel and leave "Leroy" just as he was created.
Thanks for the reply.

No. No short beds in the 80s unless it was a F150
Here is what i would do..
A. cut down your long bed frame 16"
B. get a 95-97 Supercab Powerstoke truck and put your 80s bed and nose on it
C get a 96-97 Crewcab Powerstoke truck and put your 80s bed and nose on it
Or just build what ever you want

I know they were available in F-150s in the mid to late '70s. A magazine I subscribed to back then (Pickup, Van and 4WD) had a king of the hill competition between pickups from the big three every year. Always half ton 2WD pickups, usually with big blocks. I definitely remember the 460 in that mix.
But yes, I'm pretty sure the 460 hasn't been in any half tons of the vintage we're talking about.
