Stranded in Texas! 1990 351 Born Free motor home runs good down the road then just suddenly quits! Have replaced EGR valve, fuel filter, distributor module, dist. cap and rotor, fixed all vacuum hoses and cleaned throttle body. Was at Ford garage for four days. Help!

Will restart in about half hour to an hour and go another 20 to 80 miles depending on ambiant temp. Back fired the last time it quit and spewed transmission fluid out of the tranny.

Any codes?

Could be bad ICM, or the PIP/Stator has gone bad in the PCM.

Do you have spark?

Does the motor just shut off like you hit a kill switch and not restart until it cools off? If so the problem is likely related to one of the distributor modules so I'd suggest swapping in another complete distributor.
