My local NAPA has me confused (an easy task) I purchased a rebuilt distribute for my 1984 ,351w a couple of months ago. I did not remove the old one so I took two different ford distributers to NAPA for the core exchange. when he store owner gave me the rebuilt distributor I handed him the old distributor most like it. It came without a cap so yesterday I went back and got the distributor cap and rotor for a stock 1984 351w. but, it is much larger than the disrtributer. I went back to NAPA and told the nice lady that either her boss sold me thew wrong distributor or she sold me the wrong dist. cap. She looked up my purchase on their computer and told me that the large cap and the small diameter distributor shown on my receipt were both correct. NO WAY I will go back tomorrow and talk to the owner but,can someone tell me if the3 stock 84 is the large or small diameter distributor
