With stolen vehicles on the raise, has anyone came up with a quick easy way to disable the engine from starting..? New to the 6.2L.. Do we have an electric fuel pump ? If so, maybe adding a toggle switch to disable the pump.. Any other ideas out there ?

 

Seeing as I don't have common direct access to a 6.2, I don't know how they start (do they have a typical starter solenoid?). With a college buddies old Focus that was in a high crime area, we rigged a hidden switch way up by the accelerator pedal. The switch was wired to a relay placed in front of the ignition wire line that engaged starting. That way the switch had to be turned on for it to start.

 

Fuel pump wouldnt be the best way since u can drive a little bit with the pump disabled but would work
