Hey I want to put a kill switch on my 01 f250 has anyone done the whole fuel pump switch cut off or ignition ? I'm just curious . im trying to decide to have a switch hidden. Inside my truck that cuts the fuel pump when I exit my vehicle .
Search around here and Springerpop has a DIY mod where you can build something similar yourself. The IDM relay being open means the injectors won't fire, so the truck will crank but not start.
Not saying it's my truck....but some are wired such there is no power at all unless the key is at start and the kill, button/switch is held at the same time.
Another plus is that it is awkward to use/reach . I saw the cctv video of my 2001 leaving the parking lot. 20 seconds from the time he opened the door til he left the parking lot. I got smart , one lost truck too late. Good luck.
Been thinking about the Cyclops myself. I live a a relatively low crime area, but that being said a fellow in town had his new Duramax stolen from his front yard. Didn't know it was gone til he headed out for work.
Just ordered the Cyclops. There were some concerns in an earlier thread about hitting the fob while driving and shutting the engine down. According to the man I spoke with it can't happen after the engine has been running for ~ 60 seconds. After that the relay is latched in until the engine is shut down for more than ~ three minutes. At which time the relay opens and and will not close until the fob is triggered again. It can be plugged into either the IDM or PCM relay "slot".
Unfortunately no insurance discount in good ole Ca. Not from State Farm anyway.

Probably had a guy steal it once he realized what a mistake he'd made. Took the insurance payoff and bought hizzself a Ford.
As I was just reading this thread and I was wondering doesn't our 99-03 7.3's have the fuel inertia switch on the passenger kick panel? I haven't looked ...YET.
But I wonder if it does you could just tap into one wire and use a switch.
Either that or just carry a 3lb dead blow hammer in your truck and WHACK the passenger kick panel and it should cause the inertia switch to go off. Which will kill power going to the fuel relay if I recall correctly.
Back in the day when I wore a younger man's cloths and worked in body shops I would sometimes mess with the other techs by hitting the inertia switch so the car he was working on wouldn't start. Mind you I would only do things like that as a payback for something done to me. I was not the mean spirited jerk kind of guy. But I did get even !
What would be the drawback of placing a switch in-line on the brake safety switch for autos or clutch safety switch for manuals as an additional anti-theft device?
I used to do it on my old auto trans eX's so that I could leave the engine running in extreme hot or cold situations. Would that work in conjunction with the other mods?
Just keep in mind that shutting off the fuel pump will still allow the truck to start, just not get to far. It will also cause it to run rough while it works all the air out of the rails and might be a little hard on the injectors if someone were to forget to hit the switch before you started it and caused a low fuel pressure issue until you stalled out and remembered to hit the switch.
Another thing to consider about the "hidden switch" option is that if it is located in a spot that is easy to reach when you want to start the truck that it is most likely not "hidden" very well.

Excellent point Chris !! I almost over looked that fact and I am sure I would forget more than a time or two.
The Cyclops is a nice design BUT I would just worry about the life span of the relay. Because a malfunctioning relay a year down the road would leave me less then happy at that price point. If it cost 1/2 the price and lasted a year or 2 it would be worth it.
Do you know anyone that has had a Cyclops for any length of time?
