I'm enjoying this thread and your videos. Looking foward to see the build. I would say that the stiff steering that you demonstrated on the video is probably due to a miss-adjusted steering box. <o></o>
.....It's getting new weatherstripping, and carpet too. So I'm gonna need an empty bay to open the carpet and warm it up and spread it out. We almost have the frame wire brushed and ready for the oil based gloss black enamel.
Sounds busy. Which is definitely a good thing for the shop, but also need some time off.
Interested to see how that oil based frame stuff works out.
Looking very impressive so far Anthony. DAMN!!! How much would you charge me to do the same to my truck?
As an aside, I noticed in your video there, how you have it assembled up to short block level, you are re-using the 2004 engine front cover. Since you appear to be choosing to update it to a 2006/2007 style engine, I should point out that the front cover is different from the 2004 style. From 2005 onward, the outlet to the lower rad hose is level, as opposed to angled downward like they are with the 2003/2004 engines, which you clearly have installed in your video. Sorry to nitpick, if you don't already realize this.
Carry on, and looking good. I actually kind of miss wrenching on 6.0 stuff. OOPS!!! Did I say that?
EDIT: In case you're wondering, I believe 5C3Z-6608-B is the correct part number for the late front cover assembly if my memory serves me correctly.
Hey Mike,,,, yeah I tried to get the front cover with the lower rad connection at the 3-o'clock position,, there were only a couple in the country and the dealers that have them,,, aren't selling. Not to mention they are over $700 now. Last one I bought was less than $300. I had both my local rep,, and the regional rep looking. I just got done messing with that STUUPID banks exhaust. I freakin hate aftermarket CRAP!!!! Let me tell ya how I really feel. Lol.
Btw,, do you know the part number for the clip that holds the ebp tube to the Ficm bracket?? We have catalog advantage,, and I entered an 07 vin,, and it still showed the ebp on the tstat. Luckily I have a fairly extensive boneyard. It's all together,, but I want to replace my parts.

Yeah that's right. Those front covers are like GOLD now. I completely forgot about that. I find your statement very amusing about aftermarket junk. Now you get a better picture of what us dealer techs have to deal with. Wait 'till you get the body bolted back onto the frame. That's when all the fun begins, ensuring the pipe doesn't touch any part of the frame or body.

I just entered my VIN at work and it illustrated the same early style tube and mounting. But, it did give me a part number of -W301210 for the clamp.
That's going to be one of the best Excursions around,I'm not crazy about the trans thou.........maybe I'll just send my truck there and maybe all the stuff will get done
