If anyone can pull this off it will be Anthony, he has the necessary skills and the tenacity to see it thru. I really wish him the best with the project.
The owners decided to go ahead n rebuild. The cylinder #2 numbers are a lil weak. I sure would like to keep their engine n rebuild a different one,, but oh well,, we are going late model on everything. Hpop, ebp relocated,, main engine harness, ect ect.
I just finished putting an 06 engine in an 03. That sucker runs different. The 03 tuning sure wakes up the late model pump. We are gonna be putting an 03 cam in our std cab sb. Can't wait to see how it acts.
the owners are being proactive. I had no part in the picking of the parts that showed up here. I think our transmissions are great,,, I also am not thrilled about the banks system. At least they didn't get the banks tuning. At least I don't think they did. I haven't opened all the boxes that were with it. I think it's getting a powermax. And Julie told me they didn't get the bigger downpipe. I'm good with exhaust,, but just don't touch the downpipe. I've never seen an aftermarket dp that fits anywhere close to the stock one. Supposibly the exhaust system bolts up using the stock one. We wil see.
It's also getting a set of Ford reman injectors,, no compromise on that. But I'm not sure what I want to do about the hpop. With the failure rate being so low,, should I go salvage,,, or just buy the ford one. It's concerning how the ford reman one has blue seals on both sides of the main shaft. All the ones that were factory installed had black seals. Wondering why they changed it up?? That's why I was considering salvage. Gotta talk it over with the owners.
Thx Bently for the update tho,,, I forgot about starting this.
I know I lose so much info on my videos because of the volume of videos. But I figure I can explain it. I use youtube as my "phone call from the shop". I tell customers they will almost never get a call from me to tell them what's wrong. I shoot a video and send them the link. Then we talk after they see them. Most of the time,, I let customers tell me what injectors to replace. Lol. I'm serious tho. Kinda passes the buck to them because they are not cheap!!!
I like it, been watching the videos and trying to soak up information. Been subscribed to the youtube channel for a while. Pretty cool idea, and keeps a business honest to some degree.
Got the engine off to the shop a while ago. We are crazy swamped so it is giving me a chance to clear the lot. Did an 05 y pipe yesterday,, got another 06 y pipe to do today,, and an 03 hpop to get done,, then a set of Inj and air test on an 05,, then another 04 to get diag'ed, and an 07 that was bought at auction with NO history,, then hopefully we can have an empty shop and completely focus on the ex.
It's getting new weatherstripping, and carpet too. So I'm gonna need an empty bay to open the carpet and warm it up and spread it out. We almost have the frame wire brushed and ready for the oil based gloss black enamel.
