Before I tear sumthin up - does this breather bit just pull off?

I'm changin my glowplugs this weekend (woo woo! Another step-by-step!) and I got to this thingy on the driver's side valve cover. It moves away when I push on it but I can't see any way to get it to come off the bump on the valve cover without cutting the little pinch clamps. Am I wrong there?

With enough force and a little twisting it should come off. Then get rid of the band clamp and put a hose clamp on it. If you're afraid you'll break something, just cut the clamp first. Don't remove the crankcase vent thingy from the valve cover unless you have new o-rings (or a local source for them) already.

It's possible to just leave it connected too. Just unhook the intake hose at the turbo and pull the whole thing as one assembly.

that's what I did, worked out great!

I'm now stuck at the first glowplug. I thought my 11mm socket was thin enough but NO WAY!

Oreillys nor Autozone has a thinwall either. Where are you guys buying these things? Online only?

They're like chicken teeth around here LOL!

IIRC it's a 10mm find a 1/4" drive socket those are usually small enough.

BWAHAHAHAHAA!

You ever say something that made you feel so dumb you wish you'd stayed in bed all day?

I feel so stupid.

10mm 1/4 drive socket (default for 1/4 drive is thin wall) and the first glow plug is OUT! Full writeup of my adventures coming soon.

Thanks for all the help guys (and the smack to the head, Gibbs style)
