I have a 93 f-150 with the 302 motor. The pcv valve is at the back of the left valve cover. Do I have to remove the upper intake to change the pcv valve? If so, what all does that involve?
Thanks,
Jerry
If it's anything like my '96 5.0 (which I believe it is), you do not have to remove the upper intake. Just feel around on the passenger side valve cover. You'll find it and just pull it out. The hardest part is removing the PCV valve from the hose if it's been on there for a long time. The hose becomes hard and doesn't flex around the bead on the valve so it's nearly impossible to get off. Although, I've changed them were they practically fall off the hose when you pull it out of the valve cover.
good luck

Piece of cake. Just pull it up and back towards the firewall and it will pop out from under the intake. Getting it back in kind of sucks, but once you get it at the right angle it will slide down and in.
If your truck's PCV hose is connected to the back of the intake, it should be re-routed to the tree on the top side of the intake. The newer trucks were done this way. It more evenly distributes the crank case fumes to all the cylinders instead of only the rear ones.
