I am CONSIDERING selling my 77 F600 crew cab dump truck and I could use some input on the value. I have only had it a couple weeks and it runs, drives and stops correctly. The only small issue is a lack of adequate fuel supply under load in 3rd and 4th gear, I am sure it is a carburation tweaking problem. It spent most of it's life as a fire water truck. The dump works but the floor is rotted. The cab is nearly rust free with a small hole in the front passenger floor where the weatherstrip failed and one small rust hole on the inside lip of one of the doors. I started out buying just the doors for my 73 F250 CC restoration and ended up buying the whole truck. I want to keep it and remove the dump bed and do something cool with it to tow my cars to car shows BUT I have a lot of cars and projects already and I just bought a dentside Econoline cargo van I would like to keep so I have to decide between the Econoline and the F600.
I own a used car lot and it has been setting there for a few weeks and several local people
would like to buy it to use as a dump truck but I don't think they will appreciate the rarity and value and won't want to pay much for it but an enthusiast would love to have it for a cool toy. I don't HAVE to sell it and I won't give it away cheap.
If it would bring enough to make me part with it in favor of my other projects then I would sell it. It has 91K original miles and the engine is strong.
Bump for any input. I have decided to sell it and have had some offers locally BUT they just want an old cheap dump truck and the real value of this truck is the rarity and condition. I could use some input please. Thanks
I just paid 2200 for a 78 600 crew. It runs good but body wise not even close to the shape yours is in. My guess would be between 5-7k +- detail the inside a little to fetch more money. Looks like it's in great shape! Good luck.
Thanks, do you think it would be more attractive to buyers if I removed the dump bed OR do what I planned on doing to it which is cut the sides off the bed and make a flatbed that will still dump? I can't imagine any enthusiast would be interested in the dump bed as it is now.

If you are going to sell it, leave the dump body as it is. Cutting the sides off it will limit your prospective buyers imo.
