I don't want to at this time put anything permanent in the bed for gear. If you've tried something and it worked, or didn't work so well, could you share. Brands you liked, brands that failed?

I've got the Extang Full Tilt tonneau on my F250. Not sure if that's too "permanent" for your needs, but it does easily lift completely off in a few seconds.

I have one of the 24 gallon action packers as well. I also have a bestop roll toneau. If you have a Costco near by they have the yellow lid/ black tub containers that are fairly large and work well.
