I'm not sure what your asking. What gear box? Can you run one. YES, until you run it out of oil. A little more info would enable a better answer.

Not a friend of many motorcyclist are you? Driving with a leaky anything is playing with someone elses life if you think about, Either on adry road or when it get's wet
that first rain when the roads are real slick. That is your oil you spewed out that is
making the conditions that much more dangerous!! Something to think about when
you get down there and either replace the gasket or cram some rtv in it until it stops
leaking(drain oil, spray with brake cleaner, let dry, and rtv it until you can't no more)
If it is a cracked case JB weld it shut. Yes my wife and family drives these same roads
If I knew you I would harrass you until you fixed it properly!!

I'll second that response.

I'm an avid biker (both custom Harleys and sport bikes) and hitting a spot like that is definately NO fun......

We still don't what gear box is being talked about. Some of these new members ask some real great questions with little info. I'll third the oil slicks on bikes. I ride a sport bike everyday, or almost.
