climate control - A/C problem
Here is the issue i am having. 2011 F-350 King ranch with all bells and whistles. In Arizona now we are in the season that the weather is cold in the AM and sometimes hot enough in the late afternoon to need the A/C in the truck. with the settings on Auto which i normally do, and the external temp reading in the 80s, and the internal thermostat set at 70 or lower, the A/C compressor will not engage and allow for cooling the cab of the truck. But sometimes it will work just fine. I am assuming there is a temp sensor for cabin temperature. does anyone know where that is located. or will i have to change out the entire Climate Control Module. I would take it in to have it checked out but it is an intermittent problem, and i cant not have my truck for a couple of days while they try and figure it out.

Before you do anything. Reboot the computers in the truck... I use Forscan and do a diagnostic. You need to do the one where you hear the a/c doors open and close. Then see if it doesn't work.
My 2011 freaked out on me driving from Florida to Alaska and in the last part of Canada in the middle of nowhere, I couldn't get any air to flow out - whether in heat mode or cold. Manual or auto. Once I rebooted the computers with this diagnostic everything worked and it didn't do it again until I traded it on the truck in my signature.
If that fails, start the diagnostics.

I had a 2008 and a 2011 truck and both needed a shot of freon every year. I'm assuming that next year I will need to hit the 2015 I have now.
I don't know why and I've never worried about it, just top the system off and keep driving...
Maybe not your issue but still, I'd top it off. The freon bottles at the parts store have gauges on them now so if you follow the instructions and watch the gauge it's pretty simple.
If I were in your position I would do as dak suggests.

I used an OBDII Bluetooth Reader and Forescan. The reader was $5 shipped from amazon, and forescan was free...
JUST resetting CODES did NOT WORK....
I don't know any other way to do it - Forescan has some diagnostic procedures that "reboot" the computer as part of the test. One of the diagnostic programs will test the HVAC system too.

A/C issue - culprit found
Had a friend with a computer scanner find that it is the Evap Temp sensor is at fault. Intermittent fault. He cleared it but now the research to see how to replace. and what the part number is. Any of our tech friends out there have a service procedure on how to fix. What little i have figured out is the Dash has to come out. Trying to decide if i want to do it my self or just pay to have it done.
