on my 93 F350 I have banks power 2nd gen EGT gauge without a light ( PO must drove during the day only ) It is pretty much no good to see at dark. I bought a light socket that came w black and brown wire & #194 bulb to cusom fit .

My question : which wire to tap into safely with the brown ( hot) that when i turn the dash light on it will light up my gauge like it light's up my instrument. I am assuming that i will take the black to the common ground ..?

LB/R is the instrument illumination, brown is running lights with no dimmer as an alternative

 

So can i tap into that LB/R which i am assuming ( black brown/red )?

 

LB/R is Light Blue/Red

Yeah, you can.

 

So i looked at the fuse cover it shows that #4 fuse which is the 15amp handle the instrument light and few other things . The wire is going to it is the Light brown with white tracer ..


What is is the light blue with red tracer feed or what does it do . I wish i have the wiring diagram for this truck

Fuse 4 is before the light switch dimmer. After the dimmer, power goes to fuse 10, then to all the instrument lights, via LB/R wires.

 

Should i splice at the fuse #10 then or any where that LB/R is present with easy access

 

I grabbed a convenient LB/R wire (and verified it varied with the dimmer) when I did mine...

 

Phy ..I spliced to the LB/R wire behind fuse #10 and it worked well .Now we got a gauge light's up goood
