I have a Primus IQ controller and need to wire it in to my 02 F250. I've read there is a factory connector, and Prime included an adapter to connect to the OEM fitting - I can't locate it though.
Can someone point out which fitting I am looking for under here?
It has been a while since I hooked mine up but there should be a connector that has nothing hooked up to it that the adapter you have should plug right in to. I'll try to look tonight after work to see if I can be of more help....
It's the gray connector behind that dash support plate just under that black connector in the center of the top pic. It's not very easy to access without a few cuts and bruises.

This one?
The connector provided with the Primus IQ doesn't look like it will fit. The lock tabs are on the wrong side of the connector for it to fit in there.
Be sure to verify that everything works correctly before towing, I had a trailer dealer install mine when I bought a trailer and all was fine until the sun went down. When I turned on the headlights it applied the trailer brakes. Too much power to notice the extra drag but noticed smell of breaks after about 10 minutes of interstate driving.

That is the connector to plug in your brake controller. You may need to get the harness that is for Ford. When I got my brake controller, I had to buy a harness separately that connects the brake controller to Ford.

Sometimes you just need to adjust the inertia, to keep it from dragging the brakes. Mine had a little lever that I had to adjust.
The problem with mine was a wiring issue caused by the trailer sales mechanic, it took about 10 minutes for me to fix it on the side of the interstate. As soon as I smelled the hot breaks and seen the smoke from the trailer breaks I realized the automatic headlights had come on minutes before the problem occurred so I turned off the headlights maintaining the running lights until I had a safe place to pull to the side of the road.
When I returned from my trip I stopped by the trailer sales place to let them know what had happened, they said ya, they had that happen once before, they seamed so unconcerned.

And they took pleasure in receiving your money.
A trailer outfit installed my brake controller, when I bought my new van.
I told them where I wanted it and they put it on the other side of the column, where it hit my shin. They charged me another $90 to move it.
I don't go there, anymore.
