Hey all, being new to your community I've been catching up and learning about my truck. Well today I went to hook on to my 15' enclosed single axle trailer and had no running lights. I have L/R turn signals, stop lamps, and E flashers. Just no running lights, pull truck is an /04 F-250 6.0PSD CC/FX4 with the factory fifth wheel prep pkg. or plug and play harness. I did see an in cab brake control, and from reading here red/white/and blue wire are colors used for most controllers. I also noticed those same said brake wires have been cut off and half hitched under the hood left side of engine compartment over by some other relays. My fuse block under the dash so far is clean. What should I be looking at next? The 7 blade RV/4pin flat combo plug has been changed and next I'm going to trace down the entire trailer tow prep pkg wires. Any other suggestions or helpful advice would be greatly appreciated and gladly paid back in , or adult bevg. of your choice. Thanks in advance I'll be here reading and trying.

Reason: Spell
First of all, just check at the seven pin on your truck for voltage to the pin for the trailer running lights. It might simply be the connection needs to be cleaned.
If you have upfitter a switches in the cab, you're probably seeing those that appear cut. Ford runs "blanks" thru the firewall for future connection.
The brake controller will only control the electric brakes and have no affect on your lighting.
I'd check your connection as Steve notes, ground next.
Forgot my manners, welcome to the forum. Lot of great very knowledgeable folks hang out here.

Thanks Steve, I found the issue after going from plugs (in bed and bumper) to fuse block. A brwn/wht stripe wire was unplugged at the 5th wheel pkg. plug. I snapped it back in place, drip of plastic, and we're good to go.
A LOT of valuable info on site/forum, as I said I'm new to the site and I feel overwhelmed with input. Great knowing help is close.
