Exhaust Options

I need to replace the entire exhaust on my dually. I see Wagner still makes every piece. Are there any other vendors who still make parts? Should I go to dual exhaust?

Anymore, for exhaust, I just go to a shop and have them bend up custom pipes. The fit is perfect, all joints are welded, and they bend up the tubing size of your choice. All for a competitive price, compared to me having to lay on my back, installing a "kit" that doesn't fit quite right, has clamps, and is what some company thinks I should be running for tubing size.

I agree with the post above. Most exhaust systems that are custom built (like mine) also has a lifetime warranty. Depends on the shop though.

I called a few muffler shops. Every one I spoke with does "crush bends".

Build it yourself from mandrel bends.
I got a 3" stainless Magnaflow tailpipe delivered from Amazon for under $50.

Walker still makes the exhaust pieces. The local shops in my area are too high

Crush bend, mandrel bend.... in a street driven vehicle, it makes no difference. You aren't running a $50,000 race engine, looking to gain .001 seconds in your quarter mile times. You'll never notice the difference. Just choose your tube size wisely.

I was going to buy Walker then found a comment on how Walker pipes are real thin and are not going to last very long.

I guess a crush here and there wont hurt. Just give me a little more low end torque.

He lives in New Jersey. I find it hard to believe he can get away with duals and no cats up there. Maybe I am wrong on that though. We can't do it down here in Va, and you cannot find a exhaust shop that will cut the cats off. They will not do it.

If they stick with the rules, nothing is legal except something cat-back. No headers or any modifications ahead of the cat. I was able to run headers and dual cats on my truck because the guy inspecting it let me get away with it. I had headers and duals, no cats, and he failed it. But he said if I put a cat in each side he would pass it.

Walker crinkle bent tailpipes won't last two salty CT winters. (Truck is 28yo now, I KNOW!)
And they were $79 + about $30 in hangers each time.
The universal pipe fits like a dream, and though discolored, hasn't even begun to flake.
I did have to scavange a stainless barb hanger for the end from a scrapped Audi resonator and weld it on.
